Join us on Monday 20th May at 1pm AEST to hear what is in the Budget, what isn’t, and what we can do together next in order to ensure that regional and rural communities are at the forefront of the clean energy shift.
The 2024 Budget will be a key test of the Albanese Government’s commitment to regional Australians - and to ensuring that every step is being taken to support communities navigating the clean energy shift that needs to accelerate if we are to have a safe climate future.
For the past six months, RE-Alliance and our allies have been talking to government MPs and Ministers about one of the fastest-growing barriers to the rapid rollout of clean energy: increasing community questions and concerns about big renewables projects proposed in their regions, and the additional transmission lines needed to make the shift to clean energy possible.
We have proposed a federally funded network of 50 independent Local Energy Hubs in regions with large amounts of current or proposed renewable energy developments and transmission lines. The Budget will be the first opportunity for the government to fund these Local Energy Hubs, as well as other measures to put people and communities at the centre of the clean energy shift.
Join us on Monday to find out what the Government have announced, and what we will be doing to press them on what they have not yet announced!
