– Thomasen Knight, Regional Programs Manager, RE-Alliance.
RE-Alliance convenes a network of rural and regional leader legends who are experiencing large-scale renewable energy in their regions. We support leaders through facilitated peer learning and connection to help them unlock legacy opportunities for their communities and minimise risks in the shift to clean energy.
The Regional Leaders Network allows us to be bower birds, pick the best bits that work across the country and observe the rest. Chris Sounness,
Wimmera Southern Mallee Development, Victoria
This year alone has been extraordinary. We have seen leaders develop regional renewable energy strategies, negotiate with industry using network intel, run a whole lot of community engagement, respectfully copy each others’ work (what’s that saying about flattery and imitation!?), advocate to state and federal government, secure hard-fought community benefits, laugh, pull out hair in frustration, engage media, present at industry events, forge new relationships and partnerships, support community to unpack the clean energy shift and what it means for their region, and connect with their peers at the inaugural Regional Leaders Summit.
Being part of a network where people are ahead of us – it's a lifeline. In Tassie, we haven't had the infrastructure roll out yet so we're learning a lot form members whoa re in the thick of development. Veronica Terry,
Cradle Coast Authority, Tasmania
We feel so lucky to work with such a terrific bunch of changemakers. We congratulate all of you, across Australia, for an incredible year! Well done.
