This year, the Australian Wind Alliance:
- Launched our updated report 'Building Stronger Communities: Wind’s growing role in regional Australia, Edition II' in Ballarat
- Strongly promoted changes in the wind industry to prioritise good faith community engagement and substantial benefit sharing, which we are very pleased to see adopted
- Was pleased to see wind energy construction continue in six states across the country, even alongside the impacts of COVID-19
- Saw a construction boom that was the culmination of the Renewable Energy Target, which we and others argued strongly for when it was under threat in 2015.
Looking ahead, we expect to expand our remit to work alongside local communities, state governments and all sections of the renewable energy industry as Renewable Energy Zones emerge, encompassing more renewable technologies.
