This year, RE-Alliance:
- Strategically shifted and changed our name from the Australian Wind Alliance to RE-Alliance, expanding our focus to all renewable energy, transmission and storage, and what they can deliver for the local communities hosting them
- Had our longstanding work around community benefits formally recognised by the industry, with our National Director Andrew Bray receiving the Clean Energy Council's 'Outstanding Contribution to Industry' Award for 2021
- Released our report 'Building Trust for Transmission', which outlines the actions governments, energy regulators and transmission companies need to take to ensure impacted communities can benefit from new grid projects
- Released our 'Community Benefits Handbook', which compiles best-practice case studies to act as a benchmark for companies and to equip local community leaders with information and ideas
- Started working in the first intentionally created Renewable Energy Zone in Australia, the Central-West Orana REZ, to attempt to ensure its early success.
