Better Practice Renewables and Biodiversity Guide launch

Watch the recording of our Renewables and Biodiversity Guide launch.

We're pleased to be launching a new guide: Better Practice Renewables and Biodiversity: Opportunities for Collaboration Guide in collaboration with The Energy Charter.

We aim for this guide to spark new discussions between industry, government and communities on how we can practically support conservation through the business of building the renewable energy we need.

At this launch webinar, we will hear first-hand from some of the people that helped drive this collaboration:

  • Sabiene Heindl, The Energy Charter
  • Dave Copeman, Queensland Conservation Council
  • Rosie King, Energy Estate
  • Lu Allan, RE-Alliance
  • Plus more to be confirmed

Date: Tuesday 26 March
Time:
12-1PM AEST, 1-2PM AEDT

We need to build new renewable energy to replace fossil fuels, to help prevent the worst impacts of climate change. At the same time we need to improve and protect our natural environment and reduce the impacts of new infrastructure where possible.

We see this huge task as an exciting opportunity for the energy and environment sectors to forge a new kind of relationship, where collaboration is key to leverage business for biodiversity gain, while ensuring accountability.

In that spirit, our Better Practice Renewables and Biodiversity: Opportunities for Collaboration Guide was co-designed with over 30 leaders from the Queensland energy and environment sectors. It outlines the environmental interventions the renewable energy sector can make at every stage of a project’s life to look after biodiversity. It identifies low-hanging fruit that we can get started on now to improve nature outcomes in the renewable energy build while we wait for state and federal nature laws to catch up.

We hope you'll join us for the launch of our Better Practice Renewables and Biodiversity: Opportunities for Collaboration Guide. Make sure to RSVP to receive the Zoom link.
